Emily graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in May 2005, with a BA in Political Science and Communication Studies. Through an internship at a political consulting firm in North Carolina during the 2004 election cycle, she focused her interest in compliance, political campaign management, and fundraising. Upon graduation, she moved to Washington DC to begin a career in national politics.
Emily joined Campaign Financial Services in March, 2006 as a Compliance Assistant, and has since grown to Director of Compliance and Operations. Working closely with the Federal Election Commission and the NRCC, she has become an expert in the fields of Compliance and Campaign Treasury. Emily has successfully overseen the full financial management, FEC reporting and compliance of up to 20 committees simultaneously throughout the last 5 election cycles.
Throughout her 9 years working in compliance and treasury, Emily has become very well versed in data management and campaign software, most specifically Aristotle’s BackOffice. With her in-depth understanding of FEC regulations, she has worked extensively with the development team at Aristotle to improve their software on an ongoing basis to ensure that it is always reporting all transactions in the manner the law requires. Additionally, Emily works often with the FEC through Advisory Opinions and building relationships with the Reports Analysis Division to make sure that their internal reviews and interpretations are always in line with what is required by law.
